U.S. Chamber, Greater Greer Chamber Host U.S. Representative William Timmons for Roundtable on Tax Reform
Greer, SC – Today, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce hosted U.S. Representative William Timmons (R-SC-04) for a roundtable discussion in Greer, South Carolina with local business leaders on the need to extend pro-growth business tax provisions before portions of President Trump’s 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) expire at the end of the year. Doing so will create new opportunities for American workers and businesses to thrive.
Absent Congressional action, the country will see the largest automatic tax increase in American history. U.S. Representative William Timmons is on the frontlines, working to ensure that the constituents of the 4th District of South Carolina will not face this massive tax increase at the end of 2025.
“The U.S. Chamber thanks Congressman Timmons for working to ensure pro-growth tax policies continue to empower families, workers, and businesses nationwide,” said Moore Hallmark, Vice President and Managing Director of Regional Government Affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “All policy is local, and today’s discussion showcased Congressman Timmons’ commitment to advocating for workers and businesses throughout South Carolina’s Fourth District and across the country."
“President Trump’s 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act unleashed historic economic growth, empowered small businesses, and put more money in the pockets of American workers,” said Congressman Timmons. “Letting these provisions expire would be a massive mistake—and the largest tax hike in our nation’s history. We need to extend these pro-growth policies, not reverse the progress we’ve made. I’ll continue fighting in Congress to defend President Trump’s America First agenda and make sure the Fourth District and the rest of the country remain on the path to prosperity.”
“The Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to championing our business community and facilitating meaningful connections with elected officials like Congressman William Timmons,” said Katie Collins, President and CEO of the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce. "Open dialogue like this is vital to promoting economic progress and ensuring our businesses have the tools they need to prosper, and we sincerely appreciate Congressman Timmons for the thoughtful discussion."
The U.S. Chamber’s tax roundtables and business tour are the latest effort in its Growing America’s Future campaign, an education and advocacy blitz in support of maintaining a pro-growth tax code to foster a robust U.S. economy that benefits all Americans. These events will continue over the coming months in communities across the country.
