    Explosion Sets Iranian Oil Tanker on Fire, Causes Oil Spill Near Saudi Port City of Jeddah - News Agency Sputnik Reports

    Sputnik news agency has reported that, an explosion aboard an Iranian tanker has set the NIOC-owned vessel on fire near the Saudi port city of Jeddah, according to the ISNA. Heavy damages have been inflicted on the vessel, and oil is spilling into the Red Sea.

    The crew of the damaged Iranian oil tanker are safe, the situation aboard the vessel in the aftermath of the explosion is under control, according to media reports.

    Seven of family dead as bus rams into sleeping pilgrims in UP

    Seven members of a family were killed when a bus rammed into a group of sleeping pilgrims near Narora on Friday morning, police said.
    They said the driver of the bus was on the run.

    Senior Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar Singh said the victims, who were residents of Chandpa, had gone on a pilgrimage to the Vaishno Devi shrine along with some relatives and other villagers.

    While returning, they got off from from the bus in Narora and slept on the road along Gandhi Ganga Ghat. At around 4 am, another bus that was also carrying pilgrims crushed the victims to death, the official said.

    Sensex soars over 400 pts; TCS falls 3 per cent

     Equity benchmark BSE Sensex rallied over 400 points on Friday following positive cues from global markets on hopes of a trade deal between the US and China.

    The 30-share index was trading 414.38 points, or 1.09 per cent, higher at 38,294.78 at 0940 hours. Similarly, the broader NSE Nifty jumped 116.15 points, or 1.03 per cent, to 11,350.70.

    Top gainers in the Sensex pack during early session included Vedanta, Tata Steel, ONGC, SBI, Kotak Bank, Tata Motors, ICICI Bank, HDFC twins and Infosys, rising up to 4 per cent.

    Petrol and diesel prices have been reduced by 11-13 paise and 15-16 paise, respectively, across four major cities of India.

    Government to priavatise 150 trains, 50 stations

    The government is planning a task force to draft a blueprint for transferring operations of 150 trains and 50 railway stations to private players.

    Niti Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant in a letter to VK Yadav, Chairman, Railway Board stated that an empowered group will be formed to "drive the process" in a time-bound manner.

    Besides Yadav and Kant, the panel will also comprise secretary, department of economic affairs and secretary, ministry of housing and urban affairs.

    Formula One Qualifying Race in Japan Cancelled as Super Typhoon Approaches

    US State Department has said that the United States will try its best to stop the Turkish-Kurdish clashes in Syria. This comes after Turkish forces crossed the border into Syria and launched a major offence against the Kurds.
