Week 8 of the 2018 college football season is drawing near and Friday will bring Mountain West action to a national television audience with Boise State vs. Colorado State. Both teams enter the week at 2-1 in conference play, but host Boise State is a 23.5-point favorite and the total is up to 62.5 from 58.5 in the latest Boise State vs. Colorado State odds. With such a lopsided spread and so much on the line in the Mountain division, you'll want to hear what the SportsLine advanced computer model has to say before making your Boise State vs. Colorado State picks. It has nailed six of the past seven Boise State spread picks it has made.

The advanced computer simulates every FBS game 10,000 times, and those who have followed it have seen massive returns. Over the past three years, this proprietary computer model has generated a jaw-dropping $4,210 profit for $100 bettors.

In addition to its success picking Boise State, the model made some huge calls in Week 7, including nailing Iowa State's outright upset of No. 6 West Virginia. It also picked Virginia (+7) in the Cavaliers' huge upset of No. 16 Miami, and recommended LSU (+7) against the spread for its upset of No. 2 Georgia. Anyone who has followed it is way up.

Now, it has simulated every possible play for Boise State vs. Colorado State. The results are in with a strong spread pick that's hitting well over 50 percent of the time.

The model knows that for Boise State, the offense runs through fourth-year starting quarterback Brett Rypien. The Broncos are now 13-2 in games where Rypien has thrown for at least 300 yards with fewer than two interceptions. The model expects him to approach 400 yards passing Friday and keep his interception total to one.

But just because Boise State can move the ball doesn't mean it'll cover Friday.

The model also knows Colorado State has benefited from the emergence of running back Izzy Matthews the last two weeks. He has rushed for 217 yards in the past two games, both wins for the Rams.

Boise State has allowed 330 yards on the ground and five rushing touchdowns in its two losses this season. If Matthews can deliver another big performance, it will go a long way toward Colorado State covering the 23.5-point spread and even potentially scoring the upset.
