Roma
It is said that a city can be described through a single panorama, a color, a scent, an object or even an idea: and it is precisely those nuances, imperceptible and evanescent, that sometimes become indelible memories. Over the centuries, the magic of Rome has been captured in the words of poets and writers and in the works of great artists. Eternal and mysterious, the Capital envelops whoever arrives in a pleasant "Rome-sickness" that never leaves you, and it is no coincidence that millions of tourists rush to throw a coin into the Trevi Fountain in the hope of visiting it again: because in Rome, as Goethe said, everything is as you imagined and everything is new. If you don't know it yet, or if you want to dive back into its magic, let's try to tell you briefly about its profile, its soul, its colors.
In Rome, the vine has always been a beloved plant: until the Unification of Italy, the city was dotted with an unimaginable number of rows of vines that coexisted with the urban structures, a sign of the city's unique and extraordinary history. But the wine of Rome, fresh and appetizing, was par excellence other, as another popular saying reminds us: "A glass of Frascati is worth more than all the water of the Tiber". In fact, the Castelli Romani have always been an ideal area for the cultivation of vines, both for the composition of the soil and the mild climate.
Frascati is the origin of the two DOCG wines of the province of Rome: Frascati Superiore and the sweet and fragrant Cannellino - so called because it was served directly from the small barrel in which it was stored by means of a small cinnamon barrel - to be enjoyed with maritozzi, ciambelline al vino or pecorino cheese.
Stage 21, the road to victory
Final stage divided into two parts: approach, from the start in Rome-EUR, to the first passage through the finish line to reach the coast and then Ostia, then back to the starting area, followed by the final circuit (8 laps) inside the capital. The 9.5 km circuit runs entirely along the city streets (wide and sometimes with some traffic separators). It alternates short undulations and long straights linked by sometimes difficult curves. The road surface is mainly asphalt, with some short stretches of cobblestones ("sanpietrini").
The last km are planimetrically articulated with some curves and a short climb. Final straight of 350 m on cobblestones 9 m wide.

Tadej Pogacar, six-time winner and virtual champion
Tadej Pogacar pulled off a true feat in the penultimate stage of the Giro d'Italia 2024, taking his sixth victory and proving his superiority once again to become virtually the champion.
The day was expected to be eventful. 11 riders gave life to the breakaway of the day, although it was unsuccessful, because the Slovenian rider of UAE Team Emirates launched his attack 36 kilometers from the finish line, in which he gave a lesson again to his rivals.
In the end, after the two ascents of Monte Grappa, Pogacar raised his arms at the finish line and thus managed to put a new victory in his palmares. Daniel Martinez (BORA - Hansgrohe) and Geraint Thomas (INEOS Grenadiers) will join him on the podium.
