Passion game at Pine-Richland

The Pittsburgh Passion will open its 2024 season on May 4 at Pine-Richland Stadium.

Formed in 2002, the Passion is part of the Women’s Football Alliance, which includes 56 teams in three divisions throughout the United States. The Passion is one of 14 teams in the Pro Division.

Ellisyn Mularski, who teaches physical education and health at Pine-Richland High School, is an all-star wide receiver on the team.

Admission is $18 per person, or $12 for students, senior citizens and first responders. Visit pittsburghpassion.com for more information.

Pine Earth Day event

An Earth Day event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 27 at the Pine Community Center, 100 Pine Park Drive. Everyone is welcome.

Richland VFD Monte Carlo Night

Richland Volunteer Fire Department will host its annual Monte Carlo Night fundraiser from 7 p.m. to midnight April 27 at the VFD social hall, 5857 Meridian Road.

A $20 donation includes admission, food and beverages. No one under 21 and no outside beverages are permitted. In addition to games of chance, a 50-50 drawing and Chinese auction baskets will be featured.

Church hosts ‘Junque Sale’

Proceeds benefit the department’s general and building funds.

Bakerstown United Methodist Church will host a “Junque Sale” flea market and grab-and-go breakfast from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 27 at 5760 William Flynn Highway, Richland.

‘Songs Through the Decades’

The North Hills Chorale’s Spring Concert “Songs Through the Decades” is a walk through the last 100 years of popular American songs, including such titles as “It Had to Be You,” “That’s Amore,” “Yesterday” and “I Just Called to Say I Love You.”

The concert will be presented at 7:30 p.m. April 26 and 3 p.m. April 28 at St. Vincent Hall, 8150 McKnight Road, McCandless.

Church hosts Touch-a-Truck

Perry Highway Lutheran Church is holding its annual Touch-a-Truck event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 11.

The church is at 11403 Perry Highway, Pine. The free event features plenty of vehicles to see and touch, along with a food truck and ice cream truck.

Sewing for charities

The Olive Branch Fair Trade Store in Pine conducts sewing bees and a crochet/knit group to make items for charities.

Golf outing benefits nonprofit

The Myasthenia Gravis Association of Western Pennsylvania will host the Donna M. Kalisek Memorial Golf Outing to benefit the organization’s free patient support services.

The outing is scheduled for May 18 at Pheasant Ridge Golf Club in Gibsonia.

Registration/check-in begins at 11:30 a.m., and a shotgun start is at 1 p.m. In addition to 18 holes of golf, attendees will be treated to a grilled lunch during registration and a buffet dinner.

Individual registration is $125 per golfer and for a foursome, $500. Tickets are also available for dinner only at $30 per person.

The outing will feature activities including a hole-in-one contest and putting contest, as well as several other on-course events. There will be a 50-50 drawing, basket raffle and a silent auction.

MGA marked its 69th year of service to people affected by myasthenia gravis, an autoimmune disorder of extreme muscle weakness with no known cause or cure.
