Ravel Morrison wants Jamaica call-up

Jamaica's senior men's football team manager Roy Simpson has said that former Manchester United and West Ham United player Ravel Morrison is scheduled to arrive in the island later this week to continue negotiations in his quest to represent the Reggae Boyz.
Simpson told The Gleaner yesterday that Morrison, currently at Atlas Guadalajara in Mexico's Liga MX, has expressed his willingness to represent the country, and he is scheduled to arrive in the island ahead of Jamaica's friendly match against Antigua and Barbuda on March 25. However, he will not feature in this game.
"This player has indicated that he wanted to play for us from coach (Winfried) Sch‰fer was here, but he had some stuff that he needed to do. So his agent reached out to us and said that he is interested again," said Simpson.
PAPERWORK TO BE HANDLED
"Things are now being sorted out from his end and he is coming down to sort out the paper[work], and more than likely, he will meet us, and we will talk, and then we will take it from there," Simpson said.
"He is now playing in Mexico, and he wants to come in, and the JFF asked the club to release him, explaining that he can't play, but he will be using the time to start the paperwork," he said.
Morrison is a former England youth player and he qualifies to play for Jamaica through his mother.
He was once described by former Manchester United and West Ham defender Rio Ferdinand as the best young player he has ever seen.
Morrison made his senior debut for Manchester United as an 18-year-old in October 2011, but indiscipline resulted in United selling him to West Ham.
Morrison also had disappointing loan spells at Birmingham City, Queens Park Rangers, and Cardiff City before a stint with Italian club Lazio.
